Insulation

As we are going through different climates, good insulation is essential to control the temperature inside the van.

For the floor, we used a rubberized gravel guard, then we put 30 mm extruded polystyrene and finally a layer of impermeable membrane.

For the wheels we simply glued pieces of polystyrene to create a space and then apply Reflectix.

For the walls, the doors and all the nooks, we isolated with spray foam. Then, we put 2x1 to create a space before fixing the Reflectix. Before closing the walls, we put 2x4 that will allow us to fix the furniture and keep a space to improve the quality of our insulation.

For our fiberglass roof, we are happy to note that it is already well insulated with glass wool. Instead, we will focus on isolating windows in the final stages of construction.

but that's not all. The driver's cab is definitely a problem to properly regulate the temperature because of the windows. We decided to build a doubly isolated wall of reflectix. Now, it seems almost finished ... For the insulation!
